Emergency Care in Your Pet’s Time of Need

No pet parent likes to think about pet emergencies. But they do occur—and when emergency strikes, the staff here at Creature Comforts Veterinary Hospital is ready.

We have the training, resources and experience to treat a wide range of emergency medical conditions. You’ll find our veterinarians and staff to be skilled and compassionate as they tend to your pet’s health and keep you comfortable in a stressful situation. Common veterinary emergencies include:

  • Trauma such as being hit by a car
  • Falling more than a few feet
  • Lacerations/wounds
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Bleeding
  • Unconscious/loss of consciousness
  • Vomiting or diarrhea for more than 24 hours
  • Appearance of broken bone
  • Object stuck in throat
  • Seizures
  • Heatstroke
  • Ingestion of toxic substance such as antifreeze, rat poison, pesticides, household cleansers or medication that wasn’t prescribed for the pet
  • Difficulty urinating
  • Signs of extreme pain,  such as shaking, whining or refusing to socialize
  • Sudden collapse or inability to stand up
  • Disorientation
  • Injury to eyes and/or sudden blindness
  • Tender, swollen abdomen—accompanied by gagging and attempts to vomit

For After Hours Emergencies

At Creature Comforts Veterinary Hospital, we are open for extended hours every day to accommodate our patients’ needs, including emergencies! Our business hours are 8:00am-8:00pm, seven days a week.

Although we are not available 24 hours a day, we do recommend local emergency hospitals in the event that a late-night emergency arises, and you are unable to wait until the morning for care.
